About
Paul Jansen and I founded Employ Borderless on September 17, 2024, in Singapore. We were frustrated with the lack of unbiased information in the global hiring space. Everything we found was either outdated or written to sell you something, so we built the resource we wished existed when we were figuring this out ourselves.
Employ Borderless is an independent advisory platform. We review and recommend EOR, PEO, and global payroll providers, but we don't sell those services ourselves. That independence is the whole point.
One thing worth clearing up, because it confuses people and search engines alike: Employ Borderless (employborderless.com) is not affiliated with Borderless AI, a Canadian EOR software company, nor with Borderless.net, a Belgian executive search firm. We’re a Singapore-based advisory platform (EMPLOY BORDERLESS PTE. LTD.), and we review providers rather than being one.

Research
Employ Borderless also publishes original research on the economics of global employment:
- Global Employer Burden Index 2026. An independent ranking of countries by the statutory cost and rigidity of employing staff, combining employer social-security contribution rates, statutory severance, and statutory notice periods. Published as an open dataset (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21211464, CC BY 4.0).
- I've also published two research papers on EOR selection and the taxonomy of global employment solutions. You'll find them on my about page.

The company family
Employ Borderless is the parent company of three research platforms: EOR Overview, Payroll Overview, and EOR Select.
My role
I'm the co-founder and lead content strategy and provider research. I've been in the international hiring space for over a decade; before Employ Borderless I founded Internship Abroad.
